What to Read

Seven Books, One Month, A Review

If you’ve checked my blog in the last month, you may have noticed that my ‘Currently Reading’ section has been changing pretty frequently. Ever since graduating and coming home with all this free time, I’ve been reading like crazy. The last four years, I haven’t had the chance to sit down and read the way I did when I was in high school or even when I was on break. Now that I’m done with school, I haven’t been able to stop reading. I think it  ...

Adventures, Just for the Weekend

Weekend in Pittsburgh

If you missed my Instagram Stories this weekend, you’d know that my college friends came to visit me this weekend in my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I kind of felt like the Bachelorette doing a hometown date. I’m the only one in my group of friends from Pennsylvania and for four years, I’ve told them about how much I loved the city and all the things I loved to do and all the places I love to eat. After graduation and before we all branch out towards the rest of  ...

Summer Birthday Guide

Today is my mom’s birthday. It’s a milestone birthday so I wanted to do something special over the weekend to celebrate it. Every year, I ask what my mom wants for her birthday or what she wants to do. Every year, she always says nothing or anything or whatever everyone else wants to do. Every year, I’m staring up at my ceiling, wondering what I should get her as a gift and where I should take her for dinner. While scouring the internet for birthday gifts and laying awake  ...

Life Update

Being Young and a Dreamer

When I daydream about where I want to go in life, it starts with my writing. My first dream is that I want to publish a book. I want to publish a book and see my name in print and walk into Barnes and Nobel and see my book on the shelf. I want to feel pride and relief that I actually did it. I want my book to make it to the New York Times best-selling list and I want to save the little blurb about it. I want to go on Ellen or maybe The Talk and I want the studio audience to go home with a  ...

(Mother’s Day) Brunch is Always a Good Idea

I love brunch and I love planning things and I love my mom. What better way to put all of them to use than a Mother’s Day brunch? Last year, my family came over to celebrate. My cousins and I were running the show from behind the scenes: one taking orders, one running food, and the other acting as my sous chef in the kitchen. And once all the food was out and the drinks were poured, we all sat on our back deck eating, drinking, and laughing. These are my plans for a perfect  ...

Life Update

Pomp and Circumstance and Stuff Like That

I’m still kind of in shock that graduation is at the end of this week. I’m kind of surprised to what with all the times I said I was going to drop out the last four years. But it’s actually happening in just a couple of days. The last four years have been filled with equal amounts of manic laughter and stress-induced tears. I’ve both called this place home and wished I was back home. Despite my complex relationship with college, I hold all the memories I made and all  ...

A Slice of Paris

Cue Paris by the Chainsmokers, this outfit makes me feel like I’m about to walk around the Louvre and use my four semesters of French to my advantage. While I was out playing tourist in my own hometown, we stopped by this museum for an hour break from taking pictures. It wasn’t the Louvre and I didn’t have to speak French, but it was just as exciting as I imagine Paris to be. I’ve been trying to find a way to style this top I bought last month. It didn’t go  ...

Pretty in Pinstripes

Story time about this top. I was walking through the mall one day and saw that J. Crew was having a sale. I went in and saw this blouse and I knew that I needed it immediately because I bought this skirt and had nothing to wear it with And then I’ve been dreaming of this combination ever since. So when it was a beautiful day to spend out and about, I knew this was the outfit I had to wear. I spent the day walking around the park, around the city, then to a dinner party that night.  ...
