Chapter Fifteen Travels: Hilton Head, SC

Featured Photo Outfit Details: Swimsuit • Hat Visit Now: The best times to visit are in the late spring and summer. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. In the spring, the island is much less crowded so there’s hardly a wait for restaurants and attractions and very little traffic. However, that’s considered the offseason, so some restaurants aren’t open, making the options a little limited. The summer has the opposite problems, everything is open, but since  ...

Chapter Fifteen Travels: Phoenix, Tempe, and Scottsdale, Arizona

My first time off the East Coast! Prior to this, the most west I’ve ever been was Ohio. I know, not at all west. It was so fun getting to explore the desert especially when it was cold and wintery back home on the East Coast. I flew out to Tempe for a writing conference that was part of the course I’ve been completing to finish a book. Once the conference ended that weekend, I had the rest of my trip to find out why everyone goes west. And let me just say, now I know and  ...

Chapter Fifteen Travels: Rhode Island

For a joint birthday weekend between me and my friend, I headed to Rhode Island. She’s finishing an engineering degree and I came for a visit. I’ve never been to the country’s smallest state (you can drive the length of it in about an hour and a half!) and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Honestly, I was kind of thinking Gilmore Girls, which is the only New England setting I can call to mind. It wasn’t exactly that, but I was surprised at the quaintness of the state.

Apple Picking and Apple Recipes

This week, I’m in New England celebrating a joint birthday weekend with my best friends and a fall adventure vacation. My first stop was Rhode Island, to visit my friend. It’s the first time I’ve been to this state, and, though small, it’s beautiful this time of year. My first day here, my friend took the train from Boston and met us in Rhode Island. And when trying to figure out how to spend the day, I suggested apple picking. We found an orchard online, set the  ...

Chapter Fifteen Travels: Charleston, South Carolina

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of adventure. I love to travel and see new places, try new things, see new beaches, eat at new restaurants. With a couple days off from work in late June, my mom and I tried to decide where to go away to. We threw around different places like Cape May, New Jersey, Ocean City Maryland, Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, and many others. But I was pretty set on Charleston. In the spirit of adventure, we bought some snacks at Target, got on the road (a long  ...

Weekend in Pittsburgh

If you missed my Instagram Stories this weekend, you’d know that my college friends came to visit me this weekend in my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I kind of felt like the Bachelorette doing a hometown date. I’m the only one in my group of friends from Pennsylvania and for four years, I’ve told them about how much I loved the city and all the things I loved to do and all the places I love to eat. After graduation and before we all branch out towards the rest of  ...

New Adventure: National Cherry Blossom Festival

This past weekend, a group of friends and I drove up to Washington D.C. for the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival. The Cherry Blossom Festival has so many events that a weekend is hardly enough time to devote to every activity. There is an annual parade, fireworks, and celebrations of United State’s relationship with Japan. You can also walk around the National Mall and the rest of the monuments and look at all the beautiful blossoming trees. You can also rent boats and paddle  ...
