Outfit Details: TopSweaterSkirtTightsBooties

I’m always looking for some new detail to set pieces in my wardrobe apart. With so many skirts and dresses, pieces have to be so special for me to want to add them to my collection. That’s where side racing stripes come in. Such a simple detail can elevate an ordinary item of clothing into a simple but bold statement piece. A regular denim skirt becomes transformed, plaid is taken to the next level, dresses easily become bold. That’s why, right now, I am loving the racing stripe down the side of clothes. It justifies me buying another denim skirt!

Stretch Ankle Leggings • I love this vivid yellow down the side of these leggings! It stands out so much against this mid-wash denim. A statement detail that isn’t too wild. Your new pair of basics, these jeans would pair well with just about every look. I’m thinking a neutral-colored turtleneck top—like a white or a beige—with a moto jacket over it and black ankle boots to finish off the look.

New Look Side Stripe Tunic • The perfect dress to just throw on, this tunic is great for every day. The plaid print allows for it to be dressed up a little and shape lends to being dressed down. Which means you can wear this to work and head out to drinks in it. Your not-so-basic day-to-night dress. A pair of sheer black tights and heeled ankle booties complete this outfit.

Denim Mini • Denim skirts are one of my biggest obsessions and I’m always looking for ones that stand out. The racing stripe would be a great addition to my collection. A denim mini is something to rock in every season but with the weather getting colder, this is how I’d wear it: A chunky knit sweater either a crew neck or turtleneck in black or white to match the racing stripe. Tights printed with a fun pattern and black over-the-knee-boots. That’s my everyday winter uniform.

Striped Trousers • I love that these pants are two bold colors put together. With the gray days of winter looming, it’s even more important to incorporate color into your wardrobe. These vividly colored trousers are the way to go. Pair these with a crisp white blouse and a structured plaid blazer, add a pair of black loafers, oxfords, or even booties, and you’ll have a chic sophisticated look.

Sheath Dress • This is such a good dress for building off of. A dress like this is made for layering on casual days. A button-down blouse underneath with the collar out and the sleeves folded up with a pair of booties. Or a denim jacket and cute tennis shoes. Honestly, the possibilities for this dress are endless.

Plaid Mini • Plaid is such a classic and this plaid skirt is just too cute with the addition of the racing stripes. To make that crisp white really stand out, I’d pair this skirt with a black or navy blue sweater. Channel your inner Blair Waldorf and add a velvet headband and fun jewelry. Sheer black tights and pair of knee-high boots finish off this classic look.
