Chapter Fifteen’s Favorite Moments of 2017

On New Years Day, I will have been blogging for exactly a year! And how fast this year has gone by. 2017 has been full of incredible memories for me full of friends, traveling, and accomplishments. Chapter Fifteen originally started out as a blog for me to document my post-grad life with a focus on my writing. It slowly started to morph into more of a life and style blog as the months progressed. (But I’ve got a second blog focused on writing and books coming soon!) I’ve had an amazing first year blogging and these are just some of the highlights of such a fun year!

Featured Look: Seeing Red • This is one of my favorite looks of the year. This red is so vibrant and I love how flowy the dress is and the little details perfect for summer. It was also the week of a crazy busy, crazy fun time of the summer.

National Cherry Blossom Festival • I had such a great time on this weekend trip to Washington D.C. with my friends this spring. We went to a beer and wine event during the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. The weekend was full of laughs, pictures, Snapchats, and of course cider and wine. It’s one of my favorite memories of my senior year.

My New Office • There’s so many reasons why my office is a favorite part of 2017 for me. For one, now I have a dedicated place to write and focus on my books, I also love it because I renovated and designed the room all by myself. Including taking up the old carpet, painting, and hanging the shelves.

Weekend in Pittsburgh • No doubt, this weekend of the summer is a memory I still look fondly on. My friends from college came to visit me in my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since they’re all from Virginia (and one from New Jersey), it was so fun to show them around my city. I kind of felt like I was on The Bachelorette.

A Slice of Paris • Another look from over the summer, this outfit made me want to stroll around the streets of Paris. I love the mixing of prints in this look, stripes and a graphic Paris-themed print, both in monotone colors. Simple and chic, as they say in Paris. At least, I think they do.

Charleston, South Carolina • Arguably, my favorite place I traveled this year (and I’ve been around). Charleston is a beautiful city, picturesque and full of history. And nearby Isle of Palms is perfect for a day on the beach. The best part of this trip? It was pretty spur of the moment. (We booked the hotel after we got on the road!)

Graduation • The most bittersweet moment of 2017! I’m so happy I graduated (never have to take a final again!) but it also meant saying goodbye to a place I called home and friends I called family for four years. Sometimes I miss it, but then I remember the stress and I’m okay. Luckily, I have amazing friends that I can visit no matter where we end up.

Apple Picking and Apple Recipes
 • Another amazing trip I took this year, was to Rhode Island for a joint birthday weekend with my best friend. My other friend came in from Bostom and our little threesome (which has been a thing for eleven years now!) had such a fun time. We went apple picking and tried some new recipes, including my new fall favorite: apple doughnuts.

Rad Ritual Grand Re-Opening • This was the first ever event I attended and covered on my blog. It was so exciting being invited to a party for bloggers and influencers. This really made me feel like a true blogger. Plus, I loved supporting a local business and getting new beauty brands in my regime.
